چکیده
Cadmium (Cd) pollution of agricultural soils is a growing global concern. Plant growth restriction the main visible symptom Cd toxicity, and this metal may be particularly harmful to preformed, seminal root during pre-emergence stage. In present study, we focused on phytotoxicity in growth, nutrient composition, redox status, hormone homeostasis stage maize (Zea mays L) plants, distinguishing between apex remaining tissue. After 72 h exposure (50 100 µM CdCl2), length biomass, as well Ca, Fe, Mg, Mn contents, were diminished. A imbalance was evidenced by changes peroxidase activities ascorbate–dehydroascorbate ratio decreased both parts. There fewer carbonylated proteins fractions after 50 Cd, compared which related increased 20S proteasome activities. incremented ABA, IAA, SA but drastically reduced biologically active gibberellin GA4 conjugate jasmonoyl-isoleucine (JA-Ile). We demonstrated that whole tissue involved response stress, entails hormonal rearrangements, probably directed widen plant defense lines at expense growth.

Genomic Regions Associated with Root Traits under Drought Stress in Tropical Maize (Zea mays L.)
An association mapping panel, named as CIMMYT Asia association mapping (CAAM) panel, involving 396 diverse tropical maize lines were phenotyped for various structural and functional traits of roots under drought and well-watered conditions. The experiment was conducted during Kharif (summer-rainy) season of 2012 and 2013 in root phenotyping facility at CIMMYT-Hyderabad, India. The CAAM panel wa...
متن کاملMaize (Zea mays L.).
Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation is an effective method for introducing genes into maize. In this chapter, we describe a detailed protocol for genetic transformation of the maize genotype Hi II. Our starting plant material is immature embryos cocultivated with an Agrobacterium strain carrying a standard binary vector. In addition to step-by-step laboratory transformation proced...
متن کاملReduced crown root number improves water acquisition under water deficit stress in maize (Zea mays L.)
In this study we test the hypothesis that maize genotypes with reduced crown root number (CN) will have greater root depth and improved water acquisition from drying soil. Maize recombinant inbred lines with contrasting CN were evaluated under water stress in greenhouse mesocosms and field rainout shelters. CN varied from 25 to 62 among genotypes. Under water stress in the mesocosms, genotypes ...
متن کاملMaize (Zea Mays L.) Growth and Yield Response to Ethephon Application under Water Stress Conditions
The aim of the present investigation was to study the growth, yield and yield components of maize (Zea mays L.) single cross 704 under different levels of irrigation, plant density, and ethephon in southern Iran where this particular crop has not yet been studied in detail. A field experiment was performed in the 2004 5 growing season at the experimental farm of the College of Agriculture, Shir...

This research was carried out as pod cultivation to evaluate effect of different level of zinc and cadmium on agro physiological traits of Maize via factorial experiment based on completelly randomized design with three replications along 2012-2013. The factors included different level of Zinc (Zn1=0 or Control, Zn2=15 and Zn3=30 mg.kg-1) and Cadmium (Cd1=0 or control, Cd2=10, Cd3=20 and Cd4=30...
